Title I

Title I is a federally funded program that ensures that all children have a fair, equal, and significant opportunity to obtain a high-quality education and reach, at a minimum, proficiency on challenging state academic achievement standards and state academic assessments. The MSD of Lawrence Township funds programming that supports literacy and math instruction for our most academically at-risk students at the following sites:

Title I funding in these schools can provide for intensive reading and math support for those students in need, additional tutoring for students which may occur outside the school day, additional materials for students and teachers to use in the classroom, opportunities for parent education and workshops, and other school resources. Each school builds its own program based on student needs and implements those opportunities appropriate to meeting those designated needs.

In addition to supporting the schools listed above, the Title I funding also supports professional development for teachers and instructional assistants. Training is provided in areas that will have the greatest impact when MSDLT educators work with our students who are most at risk of not reaching their academic potential.

All MSDLT schools receiving Title I funding are labeled as Title I school wide programs.
